I can't understand some of the bad reviews here. We love this family run gem and have always experienced the food to be good home made Italian cooking. The staff are friendly and the location unbeatable in the summer, especially when Abbeyfest the local jazz festival is on. True, service on festival nights can be a little slow, but why rush when you're out to enjoy a lazy summer's evening? We highly recommend Mamma's.

I was there a few weeks ago with young children it was delicious food and good service. You also get to listen to live jazz on the square.

The worst ever meal I haev had - the food is rubbish, the service appalling and the fact they knew this and still tried to charge service until I asked it be removed was diabolical. It produces food that is tasteless, greasy and lacks imagination. Standard fare if you are desperate and stuck and not eaten for two weeks - sorry used to be good years ago but now - gone to pot.

This is my favourite restaurant in the area, especially in summer where you can sit out by the river. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly.

The food was ok but they really do charge too much money.
